The coupling is the splined sleeve that joins the gearbox output to the pump shaft. It is not supplied with the gearbox — they are sold separately, and it is the item most often left off a PTO order. Without it the pump physically cannot be mounted.
You need to match two things: the gearbox series (KM600 or KM700 — they are different output sizes) and the pump shaft.
| Part | Gearbox | Pump shaft |
| KM10005 | KM600 | Group 2, 1:8 taper |
| KM10012 | KM700 | Group 2, 1:8 taper |
| KM10014 | KM700 | Group 3, 1:8 taper |
| KM35517 | KM600 | SAE A, 9-tooth splined |
| KM35514 | KM700 | SAE A, 9-tooth splined |
| KM35505 | KM700 | SAE B, 13-tooth splined |
| KM15002 | KM700 | SAE B, 7/8" straight keyed |
| KM10007 | KM25603 bearing support | Group 2, 1:8 taper |
1:8 taper is the standard European gear pump shaft — a tapered shaft with a woodruff key and a nut on the end. SAE splined shafts are the American standard. If you are unsure, tell us the pump make and model and we will confirm.
Also needed if you are mounting an SAE pump to a Group 2/3 gearbox: an adaptor flange. See our PTO gearbox flanges.
