ORFS Male x ORFS Male x BSP Parallel Male Branch Tee

Two ORFS male ports in line with a BSP parallel male on the branch. Picks a BSPP take-off out of an ORFS run, common on late-model machines fitted with local gauges and senders.

Brand: Ayrtec – mild steel body with a plated finish, manufactured to the standards listed below.

Watch: Exploring Hydraulic Adaptors Part 1: Difference Between Branch Tee & Run Tee, Elbows Short and Long

Thread Standards

  • ORFS Male – SAE J1453 O-ring face seal. It seals on an O-ring sitting in the flat face groove, never on the thread.
  • BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.

How to Choose

  • On a branch tee the two in-line ports carry the main flow and the third port comes off the side at 90°. Get that the wrong way round and the tee physically will not fit the run.
  • The two ORFS ports seal on O-rings in the mating flat faces. The BSPP branch needs a bonded washer or cone seat.
  • ORFS thread size and line size are different numbers, so work to the dash size on the hose.

Technicians Advice

Look into both ORFS faces before you fit. A ring nicked going on or left out of the port you cannot see once assembled is the leak that has you pulling the whole tee back off.

Where You’ll Find It

  • ORFS Male – High-pressure, high-vibration circuits on late-model excavators, drill rigs, crushers and forestry gear.
  • BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.

Cross-Reference

  • ORFS Male – SAE J1453 / ISO 8434-3 O-ring face seal. Parker call this series Seal-Lok. Also written ORFS or flat face.
  • BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228 / BS 2779, written G. Also called BSP parallel or gas thread.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.

Cross-references are given at series level as a guide to the standard, not as a part-for-part substitution. Always confirm the thread form, size and seal type against the port before ordering.
