ORFS Swivel Female x ORFS Male Straight Adaptor

O-ring face seal both ends, swivel female one side and male the other. The extension and size-change piece for machines built entirely on ORFS, which is most late-model equipment.

Thread Standards

• ORFS Swivel Female – SAE J1453 O-ring face seal. It clamps down onto the male flat face O-ring and swivels for alignment.
• ORFS Male – SAE J1453 O-ring face seal. It seals on an O-ring sitting in the flat face groove, never on the thread.

How to Choose

• Both ends seal on an O-ring in a flat face. Nothing goes on either thread.
• Check both grooves and both rings before fitting. A missing ring on the end you cannot see is easy to do.
• ORFS thread size and line size are different numbers, so work to the dash size on the hose.

Technicians Advice

ORFS is the standard to have where a machine vibrates hard, because there is no sealant to shake loose and no metal seat to fret. That only holds if the rings are right, so make a habit of looking into both faces before the fitting goes near the machine.

Where You’ll Find It

• ORFS Swivel Female – Hose ends on modern high-pressure plant where a cone joint would fret loose under vibration.
• ORFS Male – High-pressure, high-vibration circuits on late-model excavators, drill rigs, crushers and forestry gear.
