NPSM Swivel Female x SAE O-Ring Boss Male 90° Compact Elbow

Screws into an SAE boss and presents a re-breakable NPSM swivel at 90°. Useful where a gauge, sensor or short line comes off regularly and the port is O-ring boss.

Thread Standards

• NPSM Swivel Female – ANSI B1.20.1 straight pipe thread with a 60° internal cone. It seals on the cone seat rather than the thread, so it must not be taped.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss. It seals on an O-ring squeezed against the port spotface, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• Two straight threads with two different seals - an O-ring at the boss, a 60° cone at the swivel. Neither wants tape.
• Match the ORB thread to the port and the NPSM to the mating male. They are often different sizes on the same fitting.
• Confirm the boss has a spotface.

Technicians Advice

Because neither end is tapered, a leak is a damaged O-ring or a scored cone, not a loose joint. Pull it apart and look before reaching for a bigger spanner - more torque on a straight thread only damages the port.

Where You’ll Find It

• NPSM Swivel Female – Gauges, filter heads, sensors and return lines where the joint has to come apart regularly.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – Cylinder end caps, pump and valve bosses on US-built plant. Common on Australian-assembled cylinders too, where it is usually called UNO.
