How to choose
- A plug fills a female port or fitting; a cap covers a male end. Male thread showing = you need a cap; open hole = you need a plug.
- Measure the thread outside diameter and match it to the size column – the dash number in brackets is the thread size in 1/16ths of an inch.

Technicians Advice
NPT seals on the taper like BSPT but the thread angle and pitch differ – never force a BSP plug into an NPT port, it will bite for three threads then leak forever. Sealant or tape wound with the thread, first two threads bare, torque by feel.
