How to choose
- A cap covers a male thread; a plug fills a female port. Male thread showing = cap.
- Measure the male thread outside diameter and match it to the size column.

Technicians Advice
An NPT cap seals on the taper: sealant on the male thread, not inside the cap. If a cap has been on and off a few times the threads work-harden and gall – replace it rather than doubling the tape.
