The mini reel takes 60 m of 1/4 inch or 30 m of 3/8 inch, which makes it a genuinely useful drain jetting drum for small work as well as a caddy reel.
Wind the hose on with a bit of tension and lay it evenly across the drum. A bunched first layer binds everything above it and you will never get the full length back on. Dump the pressure through the gun before you wind in - reeling a hose with the gun shut traps pressure in the drum and the swivel seal takes the whole load, which is how most reel swivels die. Fit the locking pin before you drive anywhere; a drum that free-spins on a trailer pays hose onto the road and ruins the cover in one trip. Bolt the mounting plate through with backing plates or a spreader, never straight into sheet - a full drum with water in it is a lot of weight on a lever arm. One more thing on capacity: the rated length assumes nominal OD for that hose class. Two wire hose with a heavy cover will eat 10 to 15 per cent of the rating, so if you are right on the limit, go up a size.
