Metric Light (L) Male x UNO O-Ring Boss Male Straight Adaptor

Light series metric one end, SAE O-ring boss the other. The usual way European tube work gets into the UNO ports on American pumps, motors, valves and cylinders.

Thread Standards

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It seals on the 24° cone, normally with an O-ring captured in the cone.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss. It seals on an O-ring squeezed against the port spotface, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• The UNO end seals on the O-ring against the port spotface, not on the thread.
• The metric end is a 24° cone. Check whether the mating part is plain or carries an O-ring in the cone.
• Light series suits return, drain and pilot work. Step up to heavy series where the pressure warrants it.

Technicians Advice

Ease the O-ring over the UNO thread with a smear of clean hydraulic oil rather than dragging it on dry. A ring nicked on the thread going in will look fine from the outside and weep from day one.

Where You’ll Find It

• Metric Light (L) Male – European-built machinery – Liebherr, Wacker Neuson, Atlas, Sennebogen, Manitou – and imported tube assemblies. Light series suits return, drain and pilot lines.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – Cylinder end caps, pump and valve bosses on US-built plant. Common on Australian-assembled cylinders too, where it is usually called UNO.

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light (L) series. Parker call this range EO and EO-2, historically branded Ermeto. Also called bite type.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss. Also written ORB, SAE ORB or UNO. Thread form is UN/UNF.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
