Metric Light (L) Male x Metric Stud Male Straight Adaptor

Light series 24° cone one end, metric stud with a soft seal the other. Runs an L series tube line straight into a metric port on a European valve block, pump or gearbox.

Thread Standards

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It seals on the 24° cone, normally with an O-ring captured in the cone.
• Metric Stud Male – metric straight thread with a captive soft seal. It seals on a bonded washer or O-ring under the stud shoulder, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• The cone end seals on the 24° face, the stud end seals on a washer or O-ring under the shoulder. Different jobs, different checks.
• The stud is a straight thread and takes no sealant. The port face under it does the sealing, so it needs to be flat and clean.
• Light series is the lower pressure metric range. Check the circuit before you use it on the pump side.

Technicians Advice

The soft seal under the stud shoulder is a one-use item. Reusing a flattened washer is far and away the most common reason a metric port comes back weeping, and a new one costs less than the trip out to look at it.

• Metric Light (L) Male – European-built machinery – Liebherr, Wacker Neuson, Atlas, Sennebogen, Manitou – and imported tube assemblies. Light series suits return, drain and pilot lines.
• Metric Stud Male – European valve blocks and manifolds using a metric port with a soft seal under the shoulder.

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light (L) series. Parker call this range EO and EO-2, historically branded Ermeto. Also called bite type.
• Metric Stud Male – Metric straight thread with a bonded washer or O-ring. Confirm the port series against the block before ordering.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
