Thread Standards

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It seals on the 24° cone, normally with an O-ring captured in the cone.

How to Choose

• Both ends are 24° cone male and need a swivel female or coned port to land on.
• Light (L) suits moderate pressure. If the original was heavy series, do not step down because the thread fits.
• Metric sizes are quoted by tube outside diameter, so 12L is for 12mm tube.

Technicians Advice

Both nuts should spin freely by hand right to contact. If one loads up early the cone is not square - back it off and restart. A cross-started 24° nut galls the cone and the part is not worth saving after that.
