Thread Standards

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It seals on the 24° cone, normally with an O-ring captured in the cone.
• Metric Bulkhead Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone on a bulkhead body with a locknut. It seals on the 24° cone; the bulkhead thread and locknut clamp the body to the panel and do no sealing.

How to Choose

• The bulkhead thread and locknut clamp the fitting to the panel. They do no sealing, so do not try to cure a leak by tightening the locknut.
• Check your panel hole size and thickness before you order. The body has a set thread length under the shoulder and a thick panel eats it.
• Check which face of the panel the locknut needs to land on before ordering.
• Light (L) is the lower rated metric range, so match it to the circuit.

Technicians Advice

Decide the panel side at the bench, not at the machine. Getting it round the wrong way means the shoulder sits proud on the wrong face and the hose then runs at the wrong angle.

• Metric Light (L) Male – European-built machinery – Liebherr, Wacker Neuson, Atlas, Sennebogen, Manitou – and imported tube assemblies. Light series suits return, drain and pilot lines.
• Metric Bulkhead Male – panel, chassis and tank-wall pass-throughs on European-built machinery – Liebherr, Wacker Neuson, Atlas, Manitou – and any tidy tube-work build.

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light (L) series. Parker call this range EO and EO-2, historically branded Ermeto. Also called bite type.
• Metric Bulkhead Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, bulkhead style. Parker call this range EO and EO-2. Available in both light (L) and heavy (S) series, which do not interchange.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
