Thread Standards

• Metric Light (L) Swivel Female – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It pulls onto the mating 24° cone and swivels so the tube is not twisted.
• Metric Stud Male – metric straight thread with a captive soft seal. It seals on a bonded washer or O-ring under the stud shoulder, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• Two sealing methods. The swivel pulls onto a 24° cone, the stud seals on a washer or O-ring under the shoulder.
• The stud thread is straight and takes no sealant. The port face under it does the sealing.
• Light series suits lower pressure work. Step up to heavy (S) where the circuit warrants it.

Technicians Advice

Fit a fresh seal under the stud shoulder every time and pull it to a firm feel rather than leaning on it. A flattened reused washer will hold on the day and weep once the machine has been through a few heat cycles.
