Metric Heavy (S) Male x UNO O-Ring Boss Male Straight Adaptor

Heavy series metric one end, SAE O-ring boss the other. The bridge between European tube work and the UNO ports on American pumps, motors and valve banks.

Thread Standards

• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss. It seals on an O-ring squeezed against the port spotface, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• The UNO end seals on the O-ring at the port spotface. Check that face is clean and unmarked before you fit.
• The metric end runs a 24° cone and may need an O-ring captured in it. Look into the mating part with a torch.
• Neither end wants thread sealant. Tape on either thread here does nothing useful.

Technicians Advice

Take the UNO end down until the O-ring just touches the spotface, then give it the turn the spec calls for and stop. Going past that squeezes the ring out sideways, and the leak that follows looks like a thread problem when it is not.

Where You’ll Find It

• Metric Heavy (S) Male – European machinery on the pressure side, where working pressures exceed the light series rating.
• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – Cylinder end caps, pump and valve bosses on US-built plant. Common on Australian-assembled cylinders too, where it is usually called UNO.

• SAE O-Ring Boss Male (UNO/UNF) – SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss. Also written ORB, SAE ORB or UNO. Thread form is UN/UNF.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
