Metric Heavy (S) Male x Metric Stud Male Straight Adaptor

Heavy series 24° cone one end, metric stud with a soft seal the other. Takes an S series tube run straight into a metric port on a European pump, valve block or manifold.

Thread Standards

• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.
• Metric Stud Male – metric straight thread with a captive soft seal. It seals on a bonded washer or O-ring under the stud shoulder, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• Two sealing methods on one part. The cone end seals on the 24° face, the stud end seals on a washer or O-ring under the shoulder.
• Heavy (S) and light (L) share some thread sizes. Check the series on the tube nut before you order.
• The stud end is a straight thread. It does not tighten on itself, so nothing goes on that thread.

Technicians Advice

Fit a fresh bonded washer or O-ring on the stud end every time. A reused seal that has already taken a squeeze will hold on the day and weep a fortnight later, and by then the oil has run down the block and nobody can tell which port it came from.

• Metric Stud Male – European valve blocks and manifolds using a metric port with a soft seal under the shoulder.
