Thread Standards

• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.

How to Choose

• Both ends are 24° cone male and need a swivel female or coned port to land on.
• Unequal sizes are stocked - a 16S to 12S saves stacking a reducer on the end.
• Heavy series is not interchangeable with light series even where the thread appears to fit.

Technicians Advice

Both nuts should spin freely by hand right up to contact. If one tightens early the cone is not aligned - back it off and restart rather than forcing it. A cross-started 24° nut galls the cone and neither part is worth saving after that.
