Thread Standards

• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.
• Metric Heavy (S) Swivel Female – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It pulls onto the mating 24° cone and swivels so the tube is not twisted.

How to Choose

• On a branch tee the two in-line ports carry the main flow and the third port comes off the side at 90°. Get that the wrong way round and the tee physically will not fit the run.
• Heavy (S) will not seal in a light (L) port even where the thread starts. Check the series on all three mating parts.
• All three ports work on a 24° cone. Look into each for a captured O-ring before fitting.

Technicians Advice

On heavy series the cone does the sealing and the nut only supplies load. With three cones on one part, inspect all three faces on the bench. A scored cone will not come good under torque no matter how long the bar is.
