Thread Standards

• Metric Heavy (S) Swivel Female – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It pulls onto the mating 24° cone and swivels so the tube is not twisted.
• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.

How to Choose

• Heavy (S) and light (L) share some thread sizes but different tube diameters and pressure ratings. Confirm the series before ordering.
• Metric 24° sizes are quoted by tube outside diameter, so 16S suits 16mm heavy-series tube.
• Check whether the cone carries a soft seal or runs bare metal and match it to the mating part.

Technicians Advice

If the original was heavy series, replace it with heavy series. A light-series body that threads on will feel perfectly normal on the bench and then split at the thinnest section under working pressure, usually with no warning.
