• Match both thread ends to what you are joining; the elbow just turns the corner.
• Compact (C) elbows suit the tightest spots; long-sweep versions ease flow where space allows.
• Minimum hose bend radius still applies after the elbow – the elbow buys you direction, not slack.

Technicians Advice

Aim the elbow before final torque – on bonded-washer ends the last quarter turn sets both seal and direction, so start the washer with the elbow pointing about 30° short of where you want it. Never spring the hose to meet the fitting; if the hose loads the elbow sideways it will loosen and weep. Elbows are the biggest single pressure-drop item in a fitting chain – on high-flow lines use two 45s or a swept path instead of stacking 90s.
