Thread Standards

• Metric Heavy (S) Swivel Female – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It pulls onto the mating 24° cone and swivels so the tube is not twisted.

How to Choose

• Both ends pull onto a mating 24° cone and both swivel, so neither tube run is twisted.
• Heavy (S) will not seal in a light (L) port even where the thread starts. Check the series on both tube nuts.
• Look into both mating cones. Plain 24° and O-ring cones do not interchange.

Technicians Advice

On heavy series the cone does the sealing and the nut only supplies the load. If either end weeps, pull it apart and inspect the cone face rather than reaching for a longer bar, because a scored cone will not come good under torque.
