Thread Standards

• Metric Extra Light (LL) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, extra-light series. It seals on the 24° cone and suits small-bore, low-pressure instrument and pilot lines.

How to Choose

• LL, L and S are three different series. Extra light is the thinnest walled and the lowest rated, so it belongs on signal and gauge work rather than a pump line.
• The thread sizes in the LL range overlap the L range in places. Check the series marked on the tube nut, not just the thread size.
• Both ends are the same in this part, so it is a plain joiner for extending or repairing an existing LL run.

Technicians Advice

Extra light tube is easy to over-tighten because the fitting feels small in the hand and you cannot get much feedback through a small spanner. Wind it to the point the cone loads up and stop there. Crushing an LL cone deforms the tube behind it and you end up replacing the run.
