Thread Standards

• Metric Cutting Ring – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 progressive-ring bite sleeve. It bites into the tube outside diameter as the nut is tightened, forming the seal between tube and 24° cone.

How to Choose

• This is a spare part, sold on its own so a damaged one does not mean replacing the whole assembly.
• Light (L) and heavy (S) rings are different parts. Match the series.
• A cutting ring is a one-use item once it has bitten. Reusing one is the most common cause of a metric tube joint that will not seal.

Technicians Advice

Pre-assemble the ring properly, in a hardened pre-setting tool or the fitting body, before the final assembly. A ring set at an angle bites unevenly and the joint weeps from the first pressurisation.
