Thread Standards

• Metric Bulkhead Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone on a bulkhead body with a locknut. It seals on the 24° cone; the bulkhead thread and locknut clamp the body to the panel and do no sealing.
• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.

How to Choose

• The bulkhead thread and locknut clamp the fitting to the panel. They do no sealing, so do not try to cure a leak by tightening the locknut.
• Check your panel hole size and thickness before you order. The body has a set thread length under the shoulder and a thick panel eats it.
• The bend is fixed, so set the orientation before the locknut is tightened.
• Heavy (S) will not seal in a light (L) port. Check the series on the mating nut.

Technicians Advice

Orientation before torque. On the S series the pressures are high enough that a hose pulled to the wrong angle works the cone every cycle, and that shows up as a weep weeks later rather than straight away.

• Metric Bulkhead Male – panel, chassis and tank-wall pass-throughs on European-built machinery – Liebherr, Wacker Neuson, Atlas, Manitou – and any tidy tube-work build.
• Metric Heavy (S) Male – European machinery on the pressure side, where working pressures exceed the light series rating.
