JIS BSP Male x JIS BSP Swivel Female 90° Compact Elbow

The JIS pattern in a 90° body - male one end, swivel female the other. Standard fare on Japanese excavators and loaders, where the thread looks like BSP but the seat is inverted and will not mate with a standard BSP part.

Brand: Ayrtec – mild steel body with a plated finish, manufactured to the standards listed below.

Thread Standards

  • JIS BSP Male (inverted BSP) – JIS B8363 – BSPP thread to ISO 228 with a 60° cone seat. It seals on the 60° cone, and although the thread matches a standard BSP the seat is not interchangeable with it.
  • JIS BSP Swivel Female (inverted BSP) – JIS B8363 – BSPP thread to ISO 228 with a 60° cone seat. It seals on the 60° cone and swivels, so the hose is not wound up on assembly.

How to Choose

  • The thread is BSPP and will happily screw into a standard BSP fitting. The seat will not match. Always check the cone.
  • If one port on the machine is JIS, expect the rest to be. They rarely appear on their own.
  • Neither end takes tape. Both seal on the 60° cone.

Technicians Advice

A weeping BSP-looking joint on a Japanese machine that has been retaped twice is almost always a standard BSP part fitted into a JIS port. The thread pulls up tight and feels right, but the cones never seat properly, so it keeps seeping no matter what you do.

Where You’ll Find It

  • JIS BSP Male (inverted BSP) – Japanese-built machinery – Komatsu, Hitachi, Kobelco, Sumitomo, Kubota – where it is often just called JIS or inverted BSP.
  • JIS BSP Swivel Female (inverted BSP) – Hose ends on Japanese excavators and loaders, where the port is JIS rather than standard BSP.

Cross-Reference

  • JIS BSP Male (inverted BSP) – JIS B8363 60° cone on a BSPP (ISO 228) thread. Also written JIS BSP or inverted BSP.
  • JIS BSP Swivel Female (inverted BSP) – JIS B8363 60° cone on a BSPP (ISO 228) thread. Also written JIS BSP or inverted BSP.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.

Cross-references are given at series level as a guide to the standard, not as a part-for-part substitution. Always confirm the thread form, size and seal type against the port before ordering.
