Thread Standards

• JIS BSP Swivel Female (inverted BSP) – JIS B8363 – BSPP thread to ISO 228 with a 60° cone seat. It seals on the 60° cone and swivels, so the hose is not wound up on assembly.

How to Choose

• A cap is female and covers a male end. A plug is male and blocks a female port. Check which the open connection is before you order.
• JIS BSP uses a BSP thread with a 30° flare seat, which is not the same as a standard BSP cone.
• Check the seat angle as well as the thread.

Technicians Advice

JIS catches people out because the thread runs on perfectly and the seat is wrong. If it threads freely but will not pull down, stop and check the seat rather than forcing it.
