Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.
• Metric Light (L) Swivel Female – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It pulls onto the mating 24° cone and swivels so the tube is not twisted.

How to Choose

• The metric swivel pulls onto the mating 24° cone and turns, so the tube is not wound up during assembly.
• Light (L) series is the lower rated metric range. Check the circuit before using it on a pump outlet.
• Neither end takes sealant. Both work on a cone.

Technicians Advice

Look into the mating cone with a torch before you fit. Plain 24° and O-ring cones both exist on the same machine and they do not interchange, and sorting that at the bench is far cheaper than finding out under load.

• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.
• Metric Light (L) Swivel Female – European tube and hose assemblies on the lower-pressure side.
