Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• All four ports seal metal to metal on the 37° cone. No tape, no sealant.
• Four cone faces to keep clean. Wipe every one before assembly.
• Watch for 45° flare on the same machine.

Technicians Advice

Assemble and pressure test on the bench. With four hoses on a cross you cannot get a spanner squarely onto any of them once it is mounted, so anything you have not got right beforehand stays wrong.

• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

Cross-Reference

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
