JIC swivel female one end, JIC male the other. The plain JIC extension and size-change piece, used to lengthen a run or step between JIC sizes without remaking the hose.

Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• Both ends work on the 37° cone and seal metal to metal. No tape, no sealant, no O-ring.
• Equal and reducing sizes are stocked, so you can step down through the adaptor rather than stacking parts.
• The swivel end turns as you tighten so an assembled hose is not wound up.

Technicians Advice

Both cones need to be clean and unmarked. A JIC pulled up with grit on the seat leaves a witness ring, and once that ring is there the joint seeps every time the machine warms up. Wipe both faces with a clean rag first.

Where You’ll Find It

• JIC 37° Swivel Female – Hose ends on imported machinery, where the swivel lets the assembly be fitted without winding up the hose.
• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
