JIC Female x JIC Male Straight — Stainless Steel

Straight unions join two threads in one solid piece – BSP to JIC, metric to BSP, male to female – the everyday translators of a hydraulic system.

How to choose

  • Identify both threads before you order – thread gauge and calipers, not eyeball.
  • Male x female unions extend a fitting; male x male joins two female ends.
  • Mixing standards (BSP to JIC, metric to BSP) is exactly what these are for – pick the combination, not an approximation.
  • Not sure? Call us and we will confirm the size.

Technicians Advice

Most weeping unions were never the right thread in the first place – BSP and NPT are close enough to start by hand and wrong enough to never seal (55° vs 60° flanks). If a fitting screws in easily then binds after two turns, stop: you are cross-threading standards. Gauge the thread, check the seat type – JIC seals on the 37° cone, BSPP on a washer, tapers on the thread – and seal each end by its own rules, not one rule for the whole fitting.
