Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Bulkhead Male – SAE J514 37° flare on a bulkhead body with a locknut. It seals on the 37° cone at each end; the bulkhead body passes through a panel and is held by a locknut, which does no sealing.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• The bulkhead thread and locknut clamp the fitting to the panel. They do no sealing, so do not try to cure a leak by tightening the locknut.
• Check your panel hole size and thickness before you order. The body has a set thread length under the shoulder and a thick panel eats it.
• The bend is fixed. Work out which way it needs to point relative to the locknut before you tighten anything.
• Both ends seal on the 37° cone. No tape, no sealant.

Technicians Advice

Set the bend orientation before you nip the locknut, because once it is tight the only way to rotate it is to slacken off and start again. Cycle the machine through full travel afterwards and check the hose is not rubbing.

• JIC 37° Bulkhead Male – anywhere a line has to pass through a panel, chassis rail, tank wall or guard and be supported there – tractors, harvesters, truck bodies, tank installations and any tidy machine build.
• JIC 37° Male – Hose ends and ports on imported US and Asian machinery – Caterpillar, John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Bobcat, Kubota, Takeuchi.

• JIC 37° Bulkhead Male – SAE J514 37° bulkhead. Parker call the 37° range Triple-Lok. The long thread under the cone is for the panel and the locknut, not for sealing.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
