Technicians Advice

The in-line filter is the single best value part in this listing and almost nobody fits one until they have destroyed something. Town water is usually fine; tank water, bore water and site standpipes are not, and the debris that matters is not big enough to see. It goes through the pump inlet strainer, through the pump, and lodges in the smallest orifice downstream - which is your turbo bearing or your jetting head jet. A filter on the high pressure side catches it before that. Check and clean it weekly, and if you find it packed after a job, that grit was going somewhere expensive. Second, on foot valves: they are not just convenience, they are a safety item in a bay where the operator needs both hands. But they hold pressure downstream when released, so bleed the line before disconnecting anything - people get caught by a lance that is still charged. Third, adjustable angle couplings are a wear point by design; check the locking collar every few months, because one that has loosened will move under pressure and take the operator by surprise.
