Technicians Advice

The breather lets the tank inhale and exhale as the cylinder cycles – block it and the pump cavitates and the seals get sucked in. Keep it clean and pointing up so it does not weep oil. The knurled/vane type doubles as the fill point; the push-on type is a quick replacement for cracked originals. Match the thread (1/2" or 3/4" BSPP) to your tank top.
