Technicians Advice

These are S3 intermittent-duty DC motors – short bursts, not continuous running; dead-head one for minutes on end and the armature cooks. Match the voltage AND the wattage to your unit: a 12 V motor on a 24 V pack over-revs and burns out, and an undersized motor stalls under load.

They pull serious current (a 2.2 kW 24 V unit peaks well over 130 A), so size the battery cable to the run, keep terminals clean and tight, and check the start solenoid at the same time – a lazy solenoid is often mistaken for a weak motor. The coupling is included on the assembly; when refitting, seat it square so the pump is not side-loaded.
