
A needle valve is the simplest way to slow a hydraulic function down. Turn the knob and a tapered needle closes progressively on the orifice, restricting flow in both directions. No check valve, no compensation — just a controllable restriction.
Use it to set a fixed speed once and leave it: a slow-closing gate, a metered bleed, a damped return. If you need the flow controlled one way and free the other, choose the flow control with reverse free flow instead. If the speed must stay constant as the load changes, you need a pressure compensated valve.
