A crossline relief sits between the two work lines of a hydraulic motor and protects it in both directions of rotation. Stop a spinning slasher, auger, winch or conveyor abruptly and the load keeps driving the motor — the crossline relief gives that trapped pressure somewhere to go before it blows a seal or shears a shaft.

How to Choose
- Match the flow to your motor circuit - 40 L/min bodies suit most BMP/BMR class motors, 80 L/min for the bigger frames.
- Pick the range so your protection setting sits mid-range, typically 10-20% above working pressure.
- Load free-wheels when you let go? Take the DPRSU with the tank port - pure crossline valves cannot make up oil on the suction side.
Technicians Advice
The main relief cannot save your motor. When a spinning load drives the motor after the valve centres, the pressure spike is trapped between motor and valve - the system relief never sees it.
That is what these are for. Set them with a gauge 10-20% above working pressure. Watch for cavitation on long run-downs: a pure crossline relief moves oil from one side to the other, but leakage means the low side can suck air - if your load spins down for more than a second or two, use the tank-ported DPRSU version plumbed to tank, or fit anti-cav checks. Mount close to the motor - a metre of hose between motor and relief is a metre of spike.
