A JIC swivel female on a 90° long drop crimp tail. The extra drop clears an obstruction before the hose turns.

A two-piece crimp-on assembly is two separate parts: this tail (the stem) and a ferrule that crimps over the hose. The ferrule is not included. You need one ferrule per tail.

We sell them separately on purpose. Several different ferrule styles will fit, and the right one depends on the hose you are crimping onto, not just the size:

• FS‑R2 Multi‑Fit – 1‑wire, 2‑wire, M3K and MXT braided hose. One series covers the lot, so most jobs take this.
• FS‑R7 – thermoplastic 100R7 hose. Different outside diameter and crimp figure to braided hose.
• FS‑R14 – PTFE 100R14 hose with stainless braid.

Thread Standards

• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare, seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly

How to Choose

• The bend is formed into the tail, so the angle is fixed. Decide which way the hose has to leave the port before you order – you cannot rotate it after it is crimped.
• Long drop is a taller 90 than the standard. Check the clearance you have, because the extra length moves where the hose sits.
• Seals dry on the 37° cone.

Technicians Advice

Long drops are usually fitted to clear something, which means the hose then runs near something else. Fit it, cycle the machine, and check the new path before you call the job done.
