Extensions bolt between the gun and the lance, or between the lance and the nozzle, and turn a standard wand into something that gets under a chassis, into a wheel arch, or across a truck deck. Technicians Advice

Extensions fail at the thread, always, and it is nearly always leverage rather than pressure. Add 700 mm to a wand and you have roughly doubled the bending moment on the gun outlet, and the operator does not feel it because the weight is out at the end. Two consequences worth knowing: never use an extension as a lever to prise or scrape something, and check the gun outlet boss for hairline cracks every few months on any rig that runs long extensions. The other one is thread sealing. These joints are metal to metal with an O-ring on most models, not tapered, so thread tape does nothing except shred and block the nozzle. If it weeps, replace the O-ring, do not wind tape into it. Finally, if you are reaching for a second extension, you actually want a telescopic wand - two extensions on a standard gun is how people end up with wrist injuries and a cracked gun body.
