SAE Code 62 Flange x JIC 37° Male 90° Swept Elbow

High-pressure Code 62 flange into a long-radius 90°, finishing in a JIC 37° male. The swept radius keeps flow smooth on the pressure legs where Code 62 is specified, and gets the hose away from the pump case without a hard corner.

Thread Standards

• SAE Code 62 Flange – SAE J518 Code 62 high-pressure split flange. It seals on a face O-ring and uses a heavier, tighter bolt pattern for high pressure.
• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals metal-to-metal on the 37° cone, so it takes no tape at all.

How to Choose

• Verify the port is Code 62, not Code 61. The heavier head and tighter bolt centres are the tell, and the two will not seal against each other.
• Swept adds length over the compact body, so measure the space between the port and whatever sits beside it.
• Match the hose and crimp rating to the flange, or the flange rating counts for nothing.

Technicians Advice

Code 62 bolts are a higher grade and must not be swapped for Code 61 hardware. Torque them in a diagonal cross over several passes, and if the joint has been apart before, fit a new flange O-ring. A set O-ring will not recover enough to seal at Code 62 pressures.

• JIC 37° Male – SAE J514 / ISO 8434-2 37° flare. Parker call this series Triple-Lok. The industrial cousin of the AN 37° flare used in aviation and motorsport.
