A 12 volt diaphragm pump built specifically for soft washing, with seals and a diaphragm rated for sodium hypochlorite up to 3 percent. A standard 12 V transfer pump will not last on bleach - the seals go and then the diaphragm follows.
Soft washing works by volume and chemistry rather than pressure, so a pump like this and the right detergent will clean a roof or a rendered wall that a high pressure machine would damage.
| Type | 12 V diaphragm |
|---|---|
| Flow | 8.8 L/min |
| Chemical rating | Bleach to 3 percent |
| Application | Soft wash, roofs, render, timber, painted surfaces |
| Supply | 12 V DC |
Flush the pump with clean water at the end of every day, without exception. Bleach left standing in a diaphragm pump overnight is what kills them, not the hours of running. Keep the concentration at or below 3 percent - going stronger does not clean faster on soft wash, it just eats the pump and the surface.
