Every valve is supplied spring centred, double acting, with load hold checks and a main relief valve in the inlet. That is the configuration most jobs want, and it is what the price shown covers.
Power beyond: the outlet is a standard open-centre cover; select the plug option above if you are feeding a second valve downstream.
Other options are fitted, not bolted on later. Detent kits, spring kits, pneumatic control, port reliefs and alternative spools all change the part number. Tell us what you need and we will build and quote the exact valve.
Spring centred or detented? Spring centred returns to neutral the moment the operator lets go — the right choice for anything that lifts, tips or could trap someone. A detent holds the function on with nobody at the lever; use it only where that is genuinely safe.
Which spool? S1 double acting is the standard — it powers a cylinder both ways and blocks the ports in neutral. S4 motor spool leaves A and B open in neutral so a hydraulic motor can coast to a stop instead of hammering. S8 single acting powers one way and lets the load return by gravity. A sectional valve costs more than the equivalent monoblock, and buys you two things. You can add a section later — undo the tie rods, drop another one in. And each section can be specified differently: its own spool type, its own port reliefs, its own control. On a monoblock, what you order is what you keep.
If the machine is likely to gain a function, or different services need different behaviour, buy sectional. If it is fixed and cost matters, a monoblock does the same job for less.
Set the main relief before the valve earns its keep. The inlet relief ships set at 200 bar — check that against the weakest thing in your circuit (often the pump or a cylinder), and set it with a gauge on the inlet gauge port, not by feel. Torque the tie rods evenly if you ever add a section — pull them down in stages, corner to corner, or the spools will bind and the valve will feel notchy. Motor spools matter: a standard double acting spool blocks A and B in neutral, which turns a spinning motor into a hydraulic hammer. If the service drives a motor, buy the S4 spool — both work ports are open in neutral so the motor can coast to a stop. And if you are feeding a second valve downstream, tick the power beyond plug option — teeing the tank line instead is the classic way to blow the seals out of the first valve.
