BSP Tapered Male x UNO O-Ring Boss Female Straight Adaptor

BSPT male one end, SAE O-ring boss female the other. Accepts a UNO male fitting and converts it out to a BSP tapered port on Australian-built gear.

Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the tapered thread itself, so it needs PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant.
• UNO O-Ring Boss Female (UNF) – SAE J1926 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss, female. It takes a UNO male whose O-ring seals against the spotface inside the port, never on the thread.

How to Choose

• The UNO female takes a male whose O-ring seals against the spotface inside the port. Keep that face clean and unmarked.
• The BSPT male seals on the thread and needs sealant. The UNO female does not.
• UNO and UNF callouts are the same family. Go by the full callout, for example 7/8-14, not the fraction alone.

Technicians Advice

Inspect the spotface inside the female before you fit anything to it. A nick or a burr in there will weep past a perfectly good O-ring, and it is invisible once the male is wound in.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Tapered Male – Older Australian and British pipework, gauge ports, tank and return lines, and cast pump and gearbox housings.
• UNO O-Ring Boss Female (UNF) – American-built pumps, motors, valve banks and cylinders – Eaton, Parker, Sauer-Danfoss, Vickers – and anything built to SAE port standards. Common on skid steers, telehandlers and US-sourced attachments.

• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21, written R for male. Sometimes labelled PT or BSP taper.
• UNO O-Ring Boss Female (UNF) – SAE J1926-1 / ISO 11926 straight thread O-ring boss. Often written UNO, UN/UNF or SAE ORB. Parker call it Triple-Lok on the port side. Not the same as a JIC 37° female even where the thread size matches.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
