Thread Standards

• BSP Tapered Male – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the tapered thread itself, so it needs PTFE tape or a liquid thread sealant.

How to Choose

• A plug is male and blocks a female port. A cap is female and covers a male end. Work out which one the open connection is before you order.
• Solid means there is no hollow through the middle and no internal hex. It is the strongest form of the plug.
• Seals on the tapered thread and needs sealant.

Technicians Advice

A solid plug is the one to use where the port is going to stay blanked. It has no socket to round out and no thin wall to split, so it is the right choice on a high-pressure gallery you do not intend to open again.
