How to choose

• A plug fills a female port or fitting; a cap covers a male end. Male thread showing = you need a cap; open hole = you need a plug.
• Measure the thread outside diameter and match it to the size column – the dash number in brackets is the thread size in 1/16ths of an inch.

Technicians Advice

Same sealing rules as any taper – sealant on, first two threads bare – but with an Allen key you can apply far more torque than the port wants. Snug plus a quarter turn is plenty; re-check after the first heat cycle rather than reefing on it cold.
