BSP Swivel Female x BSP Tapered Female Straight Adaptor

Thread Standards

• BSP Swivel Female – BSPP to ISO 228 with a 60° internal cone seat. It seals on the cone and swivels, so it needs no tape or sealant.
• BSP Tapered Female – BSPT to ISO 7 / BS 21. It seals on the thread interference and must be taped or sealed.

How to Choose

• The swivel female seals on its 60° cone and turns. Nothing goes on that thread.
• The tapered female needs sealant on whatever male winds into it.
• Two females on one part, so both mating parts are males. Check both sizes before you order.

Technicians Advice

Because the tapered end is a female here, it is the part that splits if the male going in is over-tightened. Hand tight plus two or three turns on that male and stop, and let the sealant close the joint rather than the torque.
