How to choose
- The swivel end goes to whatever must not rotate during tightening.
- Match both threads to what you are joining – sizes are BSP thread sizes, not hole sizes.
- If both ends are fixed male threads, you want a union, not a swivel socket.

Technicians Advice
The swivel seals on its cone or washer face, not the thread – keep tape off the swivel face, hold the fitting body with one spanner and run the swivel nut down with the other. If a swivel weeps, the fix is a clean, unscored seat, not more torque: over-tightening a swivel crushes the seat and turns a weep into a steady drip.
