BSP Parallel Male x Tubeweld Female Straight Weld-On Adaptor

A BSP parallel male one end and a plain weld socket the other. Puts a threaded BSPP connection onto a fabricated tube run.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.
• Tubeweld Female (weld-on socket) – plain-bore socket sized to a tube OD, joined by welding rather than a thread. It has no seal of its own – the weld is the joint, so the tube must be clean, square and correctly prepared.

How to Choose

• Sized by tube outside diameter, not by thread. Measure the tube with vernier calipers rather than going by what the old fitting says.
• The BSPP end needs a bonded washer or a cone seat in the port. The weld end has no seal at all.
• Once welded it is permanent, so check the orientation and reach before you strike an arc.

Technicians Advice

Weld quality is the joint here. Clean the tube back to bright metal, get it square in the socket, and tack it in two or three places before you run the full weld so it does not pull out of line. Pressure test before it goes back into service.

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
• Tubeweld Female (weld-on socket) – fabricated tube runs on machinery builds, tank and reservoir plumbing, and repairs where a threaded connection is not wanted or there is no room for one.
