BSP Parallel Male x Metric Stud Male Straight Adaptor

BSPP one end, metric stud the other. Both ends seal on a soft washer under the shoulder rather than on the thread, which makes this a clean crossover between British and European port standards.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.
• Metric Stud Male – metric straight thread with a captive soft seal. It seals on a bonded washer or O-ring under the stud shoulder, not on the thread.

How to Choose

• Both ends need their seal. A bonded washer at the BSPP end, a bonded washer or O-ring under the metric stud shoulder.
• Confirm the metric thread pitch against the port - metric ports of the same diameter come in more than one pitch.
• Neither end takes tape.

Technicians Advice

The soft seal is the whole joint on both ends. Fit new ones and check both port faces are clean and flat. A reused washer that has already been crushed will not take up the gap a second time, and no amount of torque will make it.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
• Metric Stud Male – European valve blocks and manifolds using a metric port with a soft seal under the shoulder.
