BSP Parallel Male x Metric Heavy (S) Male Straight Adaptor

BSPP one end, DIN 2353 heavy-series metric 24° cone the other. The crossover for European hydraulics landing on British or Australian ports on the pressure side, where the heavy series is specified.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.
• Metric Heavy (S) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It seals on the 24° cone and is built for higher pressures than the light series.

How to Choose

• Heavy (S) and light (L) share some thread sizes but not tube diameters or pressure ratings. Confirm the series before ordering.
• Metric 24° sizes are quoted by tube outside diameter, not thread size.
• Bonded washer at the BSPP end, cone at the metric end. Tape neither.

Technicians Advice

Heavy series is specified because the line runs high pressure, so do not make it fit with a light-series part that happens to thread on. The thinner L-series wall is what lets go, and it does it under load rather than on the bench.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
• Metric Heavy (S) Male – European machinery on the pressure side, where working pressures exceed the light series rating.
