Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.
• Metric Heavy (S) Swivel Female – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, heavy series. It pulls onto the mating 24° cone and swivels so the tube is not twisted.

How to Choose

• The metric swivel female pulls onto the mating 24° cone and turns, so the tube is not wound up during assembly.
• Heavy (S) series is built for the pressures the light series runs out of. Match it to the circuit, not just the thread.
• The BSPP male seals on a bonded washer or a cone in the port, never on the thread.

Technicians Advice

Check the mating male cone for a captured O-ring before you commit. An O-ring cone pulled into a plain seat will hold for a shift then let go, and it looks like a torque problem when it is a parts problem.

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
• Metric Heavy (S) Swivel Female – Pressure-side European tube assemblies needing a re-breakable joint.
