BSP Parallel Male x JIC 37° Swivel Female Straight Adaptor

BSP parallel male one end, JIC 37° swivel female the other. Puts a JIC hose onto a BSPP port, which is one of the most common conversions on a mixed Australian fleet.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – SAE J514 37° flare. It seals on the 37° cone seat and swivels, so the hose is never wound up during assembly.

How to Choose

• The JIC female seals metal to metal on the 37° cone and swivels, so no tape and no sealant on that end.
• The BSPP male needs a bonded washer or a cone seat in the port.
• Watch for 45° flare in the same machine. A 45° male pulled into a 37° female will hold on test then fret out.

Technicians Advice

Wipe the 37° cone before you pull the joint together. A JIC nipped up with grit on the seat leaves a witness ring, and once that ring is there it will seep every time the machine warms up.

Where You’ll Find It

• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
• JIC 37° Swivel Female – Hose ends on imported machinery, where the swivel lets the assembly be fitted without winding up the hose.
