BSP Parallel Female x Metric Light (L) Male Straight Adaptor

BSP parallel female one end, light series metric 24° cone male the other. The usual way an L series return, drain or pilot line lands in a BSPP port.

Thread Standards

• BSP Parallel Female – BSPP to ISO 228. It needs a bonded washer or a cone seat to seal, because a parallel thread cannot seal on itself.
• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light series. It seals on the 24° cone, normally with an O-ring captured in the cone.

How to Choose

• Light (L) series is the lower rated metric range. Check the circuit before using it on a pump outlet.
• The BSPP female seals on a bonded washer or a 60° cone in the mating part, not on the thread.
• L and S series share some thread sizes and the cones differ. Go by the series on the tube nut.

Technicians Advice

Small metric cones take very little torque to seal and very little more to ruin. Bring it up until the cone loads and stop. If it still weeps, the fault is the cone face or the tube flare, not the torque.

• BSP Parallel Female – Female side of BSPP manifolds, adaptor blocks and gauge assemblies on local equipment.
• Metric Light (L) Male – European-built machinery – Liebherr, Wacker Neuson, Atlas, Sennebogen, Manitou – and imported tube assemblies. Light series suits return, drain and pilot lines.

• Metric Light (L) Male – DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1 24° cone, light (L) series. Parker call this range EO and EO-2, historically branded Ermeto. Also called bite type.

Parker, Gates, Aeroquip and Ryco all manufacture to these same standards under their own part numbering, so a fitting built to the standard above will mate with theirs.
