BSP Test Gauge Female x BSP Parallel Male Straight Gauge Adaptor

Thread Standards

• BSP Test Gauge Female – BSP female sized for a pressure gauge or test point. It seals on the gauge’s own seat or a bonded washer, depending on the gauge fitted.
• BSP Parallel Male – BSPP to ISO 228. It seals on a bonded washer against the port face or on a 60° cone, never on the thread itself.

How to Choose

• The BSPP male end needs a bonded washer or a cone seat in the port.
• Check whether your gauge is a parallel thread with a washer or a tapered thread, because both are sold as BSP gauge.
• Cap the gauge port when no gauge is fitted.

Technicians Advice

Fit the gauge before you pressurise, not by cracking a live port. And take the gauge off once testing is done unless it is rated for continuous service, because a gauge left on a working machine is a failure point that will eventually let go.

• BSP Test Gauge Female – pressure testing and diagnostics – permanent gauge ports on valve banks and power packs, and temporary test connections during commissioning or fault-finding.
• BSP Parallel Male – Valve and manifold ports on Australian, British and Asian-built equipment, and most locally made hose ends. The default port thread on Australian truck and agricultural hydraulics.
